If you are interested in joining a neighborhood committee, we need you! There are several opportunities available, depending on the amount of time you have. It’s a great way to meet your neighbors and help continue to make our neighborhood a great place to live. Several SHIA Board positions will be open in June- get involved! Contact us at

Social Committee

In charge of planning all social events throughout the year, including Halloween, Holiday events, February Fling, and annual Picnic.

Garden/Greening Committee

Dedicated to promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly gardens and green areas throughout the neighborhood.  Tree planting, kids' activities, garden seminars, and garden tours are in the plans.  Monthly meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.  All are welcome.  Join us!

Greater Towson Council of Community Associations (GTCCA)

The SHIA is a member of the GTCCA.  The collective efforts of the GTCCA have become an important voice for all Towson neighborhoods.  The GTCCA meets at 7:30 pm on the third Thursday of every month at Pickersgill Retirement Community.
