A Spectacular "Spool-tacular"!

Over 100 neighbors joined in on the fun last month for the Southland Hills Halloween 'Spooktacular.' The weather was perfect and the kids enjoyed an afternoon of festive crafts, game, and of course the costume parade. But where were the pets? We had hoped to have a pet costume parade buy only one lone pup dressed up—guess the neighborhood animals are a bit shy?

Thank you to the planning committee. Ann Huston (the caramel apple mater), Kathy Sevy, Rebecca Orendorff, and Kate Buchanan, and the many neighbors who pitched in at the last minute with set up and clean up. Also, we appreciate our judges who had the difficult task of choosing costume winners—all of the costumes could have won!!!

Finally a big thank you to the Presbyterian Home for providing refreshments and the use of their beautiful front lawn.

If you have suggestions on ways to improve this event next year (especially how to incorporate activities for middle and high school ages), e-mail us now while it is fresh in your mind.

Thank You for a Festive December!

Members of the Towson High Chamber Choir and Brass Band, along with 50+ neighbors and residents of the Presbyterian Home, gathered for an evening of holiday carols, cocoa, and
cookies, compliments of the Home. What a great way to bring all ages together to spread holiday cheer.

Special thanks to the Presbyterian Home for their consistent support of our neighborhood social events. Not only do they offer use of their lawn and indoor facilities but they provide complimentary refreshments for many of our events.

Over 90 neighbors turned out for the first annual Breakfast with Santa held at Pickersgill Retirement Home. In addition to refreshments, activities, carols and of course, Santa, we collected over 8 garbage bags full of toys and items of need that were donated to the House of Ruth. Thank you to Bob Weimer, Maureen Webster, Kelly Hepting, Marianne Sorteberg and Pickersgill Retirement Home for helping to coordinate this event and to Therese McAllister and Robin Williams for collecting and distributing the donations.
